He married Mary Ellen Winemiller Lewis County, West Virgina, November 1, 1877. (Mary Ellen Winemiller is #995.) Mary was born Lewis County, West Virgina October 9, 1850. Mary was the daughter of Noah Winemiller and Mary Jane Plant. Mary died October 1, 1922 Los Angeles, California, at 71 years of age.

William Lonzo Newton and Mary Ellen Winemiller had the following children:
